Work-out Wednesday: Lucy's Kayaking Adventures

This week for Work-out Wednesday, we are going to let our sister-Lucy take ova.

For those of you who do not know, Lucy is the original dog in the house. Yup. She was the first.
Lucy also used to be a pug-puggle weighing in at a whopping 29 lbs! She was then known as "Fat Lucy"

Today, Lucy weighs a slim 19 lbs and is known as "Hot Tamale Lucy"

On top of a diet that consisted of breaking her habit of hobbit eating (first breakfast, second breakfast..), Lucy also shed the pounds by taking up kayaking with her Woolly Mammoth.

Lucy has to do a significant amount of walking to get to the dock, then for the first couple of years Lucy sat in the kayak with her dad. Since then, Lucy has become more adventurous and mastered the ability to be a true nature dog!
Occassionally, Lucy will jump in the water and get a good swim in. She is careful as she knows that if she jumps into certain places, she will in fact end up needing a tubbie (and Lucy HATES tubbies).

Shortly after the taking of this photo, the Woolly Mammoth decided to ignore a spray painted sign telling him to go left. Shortly upon taking the road less traveled, he learned why- there was white waters that flipped the kayak. Lucy and the Woolly mammoth both ended up in the river. Luckily for Lucy, the Woolly Mammoth was able to find her (and luckily for the Woolly Mammoth as he would not have wanted to return home to Lucy's ma without Lucy). Lucy was swimming like a champ, getting her burn in. Going forward, the Woolly Mammoth will ensure that Lucy is wearing her proper flotation device- and we don't mean her blubber. We recommend the Pet Aboard polka dotted life vest

And of course, make sure your dog can swim before entering the water.
Yup, Lucy can swim.
Luigi is afraid of the stereotype of black dogs not being able to swim..
